What's new/works

The built up roof system and finishing were replaced, which previously contained asbestos and could pose a health hazard to the public, have been replaced with lightweight metal tiles that mimic the original cement-tile texture. Previously repainted asbestos blue roof shingles have been restored to its original grey with white fold accents.

Existing timber ceiling panels have been replaced, with aluminum acoustic ceiling panels added at selected areas to reduce reverberation.

The glass windows and skylights have been replaced with Low-Emissivity (Low-E) glass for better energy efficiency. The naco windows have been redesigned to highlight the circular patterns and improve sealing.

The split-system air conditioners have been replaced with a central air conditioning system coordinated with the floor standing Fan Coil Units, with strategically placed air vents to improve the cooling performance between the pews

The doors have been redesigned with timber and glass to reflect the solidity of the original timber doors, while maintaining some external visibility.

Steel grill with circular patterns have been reinstated at certain windows.

The iconic brick walls have been restored, including the removal of salt and mold.

Externally, all drainage has been covered up, and a new pedestrian entrance with a wheelchair-friendly ramp improves access to the nearby bus stops.
